GM7OAW (SK)

Alex was a member of both the Paisley Amateur Radio Club & The West of Scotland ARS for many years, taking part in many aspects of the Clubs activities.

In WoSARS, he was an ex Chairman and Treasurer. The 1990’s saw Alex involved in the establishment of the Club’s Shack at Cochno. He also enjoyed contesting, IOTA and dxpeditions with fellow Club Members. Examples of Alex’s escapades with WoSARS can be found at https://wosars.club/the-gallery-tag-cloud/?term_slug=gm7oaw

As well as amateur radio, Alex had a passion for model railways and models in general, with an early example of model airborne video around a WoSARS contest station here: https://youtu.be/1CtVYVQWm5E

Alex was professional engineer, joining the then GPO/BT and retiring from a role in Safety Management.
