SPECIAL EVENT
GB2JCM will be operated by the James Clerk Maxwell Radio Society to commemorate the anniversary of the mathematician and scientist’s birth on the 13th of June. They will operate from the Church at Parton in Dumfries & Galloway where Clerk Maxwell both worshipped and is buried. Should you be interested in joining with the society and taking part in the special event, please come along on the day between 9am and 5pm. They can be contacted via QRZ.com.

Kilmarnock & Loudoun Amateur Radio Club holds a net on Sundays from 2pm around 3.720MHz SSB, later moving to around 3.540MHz at 2.30pm for a CW Net. The quiz night is now suspended until the Autumn. SOTA @ 20 (Years Young)
Summits on the Air launched in England (G) and Wales (GW) on 2nd March 2002. Since then it has expanded massively to over one hundred associations on all major world continents, and has over 24,000 participants.
A special award has been launched to celebrate SOTA’s 20th birthday. Participants can obtain a certificate for their best 20 days chasing or activating (separate certificates for each activity). Logs are entered as normal and the SOTA Database picks your 20 highest scoring days out of your logs for the whole year. (March 2nd 2022 to March 1st 2023). Read MORE ……………..

Farewell Tommy GM3VBT (SK)
Tommy GM3VBT was a long time member of both WoSARS and it’s forerunner, The Radio Club of Scotland (RCS). Although operating from his Glasgow QTH, Tommy was always keen to help out in the many amateur contests and especially some of the SPECIAL EVENT stations that the Club took part in.
On a Club Night, Tommy was usually found behind the serving counter dispensing tea, coffee and biscuits. Always up for a chat as to who was working whom, new members, equipment and developments in the hobby.

It is with sadness that we announce that Tommy Logan, GM3VBT passed away last week. His funeral will take place on the 7th of February at 11.30 am at Clydebank Crematorium. All are welcome to attend. We send our condolences to his family.

Sad news. Longstanding WoSARS and RCS Member Tommy, GM3VBT (Logan) is now a silent key (SK – 24th January). Though not able to attend the Club’s meetings for the last couple of years due to Covid restrictions and failing health, members were kept aware of how he was faring via amateur and family sources. With the Club meetings having resumed, he will be sadly missed on a Friday night both at Rose Street and down at the ‘pub’ (The Bon Accord) afterwards. His funeral will be held on 7th February at 11.30 am, Clydebank Crematorium. All are welcome to attend.
