The Glasgow University Wireless Society is resuming its Monday evening 2m FM nets on Monday the 18th of September from 6pm. All radio amateurs are welcome to join the net, which will be controlled by the club callsign GS4AGU. “…….. Sad news that Raymond Kemp, GM0KQB has become a silent key. Ray had not been active for a few years due to family illness and his own terminal Fibrosis. He leaves a wife, Helen and a son, Andrew. He was a coppersmith by trade and was also a talented musician and played in a number of local bands. His favourite radio mode was CW. He was an early member of Stirling and District Amateur Radio Society before it moved to Bandeath Estate ………………..”

RadCom Extract “……….. (GM3WUX) During the week of my 73rd birthday, 2 to 8 October, I plan to walk 73 laps of a familiar loop in Glasgow’s Queens Park. Each lap will be about 1.4 miles and include at least 200 feet of ascent. So, the whole walk will be about 100 miles including over 14,000 feet of ascent. Being totally blind, I plan to do this unassisted, using my long cane. I’m doing this in honour of my best friend, Jeremy Browne, G3XZG, who died of cancer last year ………………” More information HERE .

Today, the 20th, Moray Firth Amateur Radio Society is taking part in International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend from Covesea Lighthouse Lossiemouth, with the kind permission of the trustees. Operation is on the HF and VHF bands using SSB, CW and FM from 10am using the special event callsign GB0CSL. Visitors are welcome. The lighthouse is open for booked tours and the RAF and Fleet Air Arm Heritage Centre is open from 11am to 4pm. Please see the Society’s website for details. SEEING THE LIGHT WITH GB0CSL

DIGITAL REFLECTIONS

The DV Scotland Phoenix Monday Night Net operates every Monday from 8pm to 9.30pm with MM3XGP. This is via all DV Scotland Phoenix repeaters on Talk Group 23556, time Slot 2. In addition, via Allstar HUB 53937, D-Star reflector XLX600D and System Fusion Reflector 0-DVSPh. The Coast-to-Coast Net takes place on Saturdays, from 9 to 10pm, with GM5DVS. PAISLEY BUDDIES’S BUDDIES

Paisley Amateur Radio Club holds a net on Mondays from 8pm on 144.550MHz and on Zello. Tuesday sees a DMR net in room 4415 from 8pm. On Thursday, there is an FM net on 144.550MHz and on Zello from 7.30pm. Stuart, MM0PAZ, 0742 665 0757

Cockenzie and Port Seton Amateur Radio Club usually meets on the first Friday of the month for a club night in the lounge bar of the Thorntree Inn. RADIO ASSISTANCE
