HAPPY NEW YEAR

The news team and all the staff at RSGB HQ would like to wish our newsreaders, listeners and online readers a very happy New Year. We would like to remind everyone that we always welcome your news, by email, to radcom@rsgb.org.uk and the deadline is 10am sharp on Thursday mornings. The GB2RS script is usually uploaded to the RSGB website by 4.30pm each Friday afternoon.

MORSE NIGHTS

Glenrothes and District Radio Club’s Tuesday and Thursday multi-speed CW practice sessions and natter nets continue at 7.30pm on 145.425MHz FM. Check-in is open from 7.15pm. Eric, GM4FQE, 01333 450 753

MOVIE NIGHT

On Wednesday, Lothians Radio Society is having a video night with Edinburgh Cine and Video Society. Members will be watching The Boat that Rocked, the 2009 film about offshore radio in the 1960s. Coffee will be served from 7pm and the screening will start at 7.30pm. secretary@lothiansradiosociety.com

SOLDER SMOKE

West of Scotland Amateur Radio Society will have its usual Solder Group meeting from 6pm on Wednesday. Members will be gathering at 8pm on Friday at the Society’s Rose Street rooms for a club night. For more information – Pat, 2M1CKE, macrobius@btinternet.com or the Club’s website

MARCONI 150 YEARS YOUNG

This year marks 150 years since the birth of Guglielmo Marconi in 1874. The Cornish Radio Amateur Club will be organising International Marconi Day this year on the 27th of April. For more information and updates, visit the GB4IMD Facebook page.
