New Youth Champion

We’re pleased to announce that Rob Evered, G2RE has joined us as the volunteer Youth Champion. Rob will work closely with the Youth Team to develop links (with schools, scouts & guides, universities and the public) and motivate young people to get involved in amateur radio.

ARISS contact with Devon school in October

The next Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) contact is scheduled for the week of 7 October 2019 with Bampton School in Devon. They’ll be operating as GB4BPS and contacting NA1SS on the station. More details to follow soon.

NRC radio room unavailable – Weds 11 September

Due to essential maintenance work on the SteppIR beam, the radio room at the RSGB National Radio Centre at Bletchley Park will not be operational for much of Wednesday 11 September. We apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience caused to NRC visitors.

RSGB President writes to Ofcom about 144 MHz

After due consideration, and as reported in GB2RS news on Friday, 5 July 2019, RSGB President Dave Wilson, M0OBW wrote to Ofcom strongly expressing the RSGB’s concerns about the proposed WRC-23 aeronautical Agenda Item that includes 144-146 MHz.
