THE RISE OF THE PHOENIX

The DV Scotland Phoenix Monday Night Net operates every Monday from 8pm to 9.30pm with MM3XGP. This is via all DV Scotland Phoenix repeaters on Talk Group 23556, time Slot 2. In addition, via Allstar HUB 53937, D-Star reflector XLX600D and System Fusion Reflector 0-DVSPh. The Coast-to-Coast Net takes place on Saturdays, from 9 to 10pm, with GM5DVS. MULTISPEED CW

MINI-RALLY

Cockenzie and Port Seton Amateur Radio Club usually meets on the first Friday of the month for a club night in the lounge bar of the Thorntree Inn. The next club night will be held on Friday the 4th of August. On the 11th of August the Club will be holding its yearly mini rally at the Community Centre from 6 to 9pm. Stirling Amateur Radio Society meets at the Club House, Throsk, FK7 7XY at 7pm on Thursday. The club is open for projects and operating on Sundays from 10am. The Society is running multi-station, Special Event Station, GB1CWC, from its clubhouse in Throsk, near Stirling, from Thursday the 10th of August to Sunday 13th of August 2023, celebrating Stirling hosting the time trial events in the inaugural UCI, Cycling World Championships. The Society would like to extend an invitation to individual radio amateurs and clubs to participate as guest operators at this multi-station event. Any individual or club interested in participating as guest operators should email secretary@gm6nx.com with the date and time they would like to operate the station. This is to ensure they will be guaranteed a slot in the operating schedule. Short-wave listeners and the general public are also welcome to attend. GB2RS newsreader Graham, G4JBD has developed an online tool which plays Morse code based on the current GB2RS News script at a variety of different speeds. To help simulate a realistic HF-operating environment, the system can be set to include man-made band noise, or QRM, and/or natural band noise, or QRN. GB2RS SUNDAY NIGHT QTR CHANGE

“……… Just to let you know that, after consultation with the GB2RS Coordinator, we’ve arranged that my Sunday evening GB2RS will move time from 1830hrs to 1930hrs. This change is effective from next Sunday. Hopefully this will mean people who are busy in the afternoon, or who would normally have their dinner around 6.30pm, etc etc, will find it easier to tune in ……………..”
