On Thursday, members of Aberdeen Amateur Radio Society will be having a CW practice session from 7pm. Following this, there will be an informal meeting from 7.30pm. For more information about the Society visit aars.org.uk

The DV Scotland Phoenix Monday Night Net operates every Monday from 8pm to 9.30pm with MM3XGP. This is via all DV Scotland Phoenix repeaters on Talk Group 23556, time Slot 2. In addition, via Allstar HUB 53937, D-Star reflector XLX600D and System Fusion Reflector 0-DVSPh. The Coast-to-Coast Net takes place on Saturdays, from 9 to 10pm, with GM5DVS. The Glasgow University Wireless Society runs a net on 145.525MHz on Mondays from 6pm. All radio amateurs are welcome to join the net which is controlled by the club callsign GS4AGU. The first amateur radio station on the moon, JS1YMG, is now transmitting

“…………….. The first amateur radio station on the moon, JS1YMG, is now transmitting. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, or JAXA, landed its Smart Lander for Investigating the Moon on the 19th of January 2024. The JAXA Ham Radio Club, JQ1ZVI secured the JS1YMG callsign and has been transmitting Morse code on 437.41MHz since the 19th of January. The probe uses 1W to a UHF antenna, with circular polarisation, and is transmitting what is described as “matters related to amateur business.” Radio amateurs have been busy analysing JS1YMG‘s signal.
